On Saturday 24 August 2013 members of the Literacy and Scholarship committee of the Rotary Club of South East Nassau  visited the Bilney Lane Children's Home.

While at the home members of the Literacy and Scholarship Committee read a variety of stories to the children including tales from B'Booky and B'Rabby and The Last of the Mohicans. We also provided the children with pizza, fruit and juice for lunch.

The book reading session was a great success as we were well received by Mrs. Olivia Major, the director of the home, her staff, and the children who were very happy for us to read to them.

As part of our goal to promote literacy in The Bahamas,  and celebrate World Literacy day the Literacy and Scholarship Committee have arranged two further reading sessions at the home on Saturday 31 August and Saturday 7 August at 11am.

All interested Rotarians of the club of South East Nassau are encouraged to come out on those upcoming dates to support this endeavor.
