Lynden Maycock, the CEO of the Local Organizing Committee for the 50th Carifta Games (Golden Jubilee) was our speaker last week. Mr. Maycock spoke of some of the plans and innovations that will be a part of this year's games. Mr. Maycock had his senior director of technology, Michaelangelo Cartwright assist him. Michaelangelo spoke of the technological needs of the games, the wifi technology being put in place, the bandwidth requirements and audio and video standards that will be used. Mr. Maycock spoke of volunteers for the games and noted that they would be pleased to have the members of The Rotary Club of South-East Nassau assist during the games. He also said that he welcomes assistance from any of the Rotary Clubs of The Bahamas.
Also in attendance were other members of the committee which included the Dame of the games, Pauline Davis. Fern Hanna, the senior director of marketing and partnership was also in attendance.
