The President of the Rotary Club of South East Nassau for 2021 - 2022 is Calnan Weech. Calnan is employed by the Atlantis Resort & Casino as the Senior Director of System Assurance in the Information Technology Division. In his current role he is responsible for cyber security as well as IT governance, risk, and compliance. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management from Florida International University and is a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) and currently pursuing the Certified Information Systems Security Professional designation or CISSP. In 2019 he was invited to present a paper at The University of The Bahamas entitled “The impact of artificial intelligence on the hospitality industry.” Calnan is a long-time member of the of the Bahama Island Co-Operative Credit Union (BICCU), formerly the Paradise Island Resort & Casino Co-Operative Credit Union (PIRCCCU) and in service to his credit union, he served on its board of directors first as treasurer and then as president. While on the board of PIRCCCU, he was elected to the board of The Bahamas Co-Operative League Limited (BCLL), the apex organization for credit unions in the country where he also served first as its Treasurer and later as President. Due to his unwavering belief in the Co-Operative system and seeking to elevate the profile of the sector, he has presented papers on the subject on two separate occasions to the College of The Bahamas. The first back in 2003 was entitled ‘The Role of Credit Unions in Economic Development’ and then thirteen years later a paper entitled ‘The Role of Co-Operatives in Economic & Youth Development’. Calnan first joined the Rotary Club of South-East Nassau in 2005 and after a break rejoined in 2017. He served as Director of Community Service for two years and as Director of Public Image last year. He is married to the former Sharon Innis and is the father of two daughters one son and has two grandchildren.
